Chance basically admitted to hating black woman

I think his comment was taken out of context. The premise of the video he was in was about why regrets making a song with R(apist) Kelly. I watched the entire clip of his interview, he was breaking down the flaw in our society pertaining to victimization in the black community; black men are often the ones everyone else sees as victims (police brutality, image slander, etc) when in reality black women are the ones who bare most of the burdens and face the most oppression. He also mentioned that typically society has only shown black men to be guilty of something when it involves the harming of non-black women. That being said, he admitted he was a product of society influencing and shaping the minds of the masses; a black woman as a victim seemed like an unreliable prospect. Presently, he’s now happy that R(apist) Kelly’s victims now have a platform to be heard and he understands now that he was biased and ignorant…I really don’t think he feels those things anymore, at least I hope he doesn’t. He posted the interview on his twitter and Instagram so I’m sure he expected to backlash.

It’s not just the disbelief it’s the lack of empathy for black women and girls that’s so disturbing.

He admitted to not listening and devaluing Black Women because society has conditioned him to do so. This is completely true but by pushing off responsibility for his actions onto “we live in society”, it takes away from how he as an individual added to and maintained the systematic forces that conditioned him in the first place.

Call a spade a spade: society conditioned him to hate Black women and he didn’t fight it while benefiting from this hate. It’s just like when white people admit that the racism around them got them to the success they enjoy today.
